What is CDCS?

The Configurable Data Curation System (CDCS) framework is a modular web framework following the FAIR data principles to manage scientific data developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

What is DATA-M?

DATA-M is a service provided by Prometheus to support the installation, configuration, operation, integration and customization of the CDCS within an organization. 

Why do I need CDCS?

The CDCS is a quick way to deploy a web platform for curating datasets in a standardised way.

What can I use CDCS for?

Which CDCS flavor is the best for me?

If you are looking for a system to inventory resources and make them discoverable, then the data registry is the best option. For any other use cases, data repositories can be customized to meet you

How much does it cost to install it?

CDCS is open-source, so you can install it on your own for free!

However, there are components and integration to existing infrastructure that require more in-depth knowledge.

Can I install it on my own?

Absolutely! CDCS is open source, so anybody can grab it and install it. 

There are however, components that you will need to set up for a production version. At the very least, you will need a web server, an authentication provider, and a database management system.
